More information about our house and the project:
Four students made a beautiful concept for the international competition Solar Decathlon. Beyond their expectations, their concept has been chosen for the Finale. Because of all the hard work they had to do themselves and because their concept for the house focusses on a life-course adaption, they’ve called this project ‘Selficient’. Selfie and Self-sufficient within one name. It attracted more than 80 students and teachers to be a team. Read more about us!
As team Netherlands, we represent Europe, together with Swiss. Furthermore, we are the only university of applied sciences who will compete in Solar Decathlon. Let’s rock this competition!
WHAT WE DO
With Selficient we aim to create the new building standard.
This standard is based upon the cradle-to-cradle and circular economy philosophies.
You can customize YOUR (dream)house, live self-sufficient and the cost of living will lower significantly.
We are making a sustainable house for everyman.
Our mission is to create a house that is
attractive and affordable.
We're aiming for an house that's self-sufficient by generating its own solar energy.
A modular system makes the exterior of the house flexible. This way the house can be adapted to the residents’ needs.
